How do you insert special html chars?

edited October 2012 in Newbie Questions
I want to add a © or &#169 or even hex A9. I've tried content: but it simply prints out the code. I've also tried escaping it with a \ but to no avail. I'm sure it's something easy but I can't seem to find anything.

Thanks in advance.

    add "allowHtml:true", like:

    {kind:"Control", allowHtml:true, content: "©"}

    (I'm assuming © is the correct code for copyright symbol)
  • Just put that copyright icon (©) inside the content string. Since Unicode is standard, you do not have to worry about masking almost any character.
  • thank you both. those are both helpful to me.
  • \u00A9 if you want to escape it
  • Thanks. Well, I happen to get a JS book that had some more to say about these characters. Since I had the equilavent hex code for the © char, all I needed was an "x" to signify hex, so content: "\xA9" worked like a charm. Thanks for all of your input.
