ChangeLog Brief (always first focused on stability) :
- a lot of bug fixes on Ares Designer,
- the contextual menu feature on file/folder has been introduced.

As usual, if you want to report issues and/or vote for existing ones, goes to https://enyojs.atlassian.net/browse/ENYO (component: ares).

Warnings:
- Node.js 0.8 has been deprecated. Ares ide is now running on Node.js upper or equal to 0.10.6.
- Again, please pay attention to the KNOWN-BUGS log before to play with Ares IDE.
- We still need to link KNOWN-BUGS list with https://enyojs.atlassian.net/browse/ENYO (component: ares). Not yet done.

Enjoy

What's wrong here with getting update to the new 2.6 version?
You see I have node@v0.10.0 as active.
Should I really get the updated node@v0.10.6 - and if yes then what is the npm statement to update node?
  • Martin, I'm confused.

You still have the ares-ide@0.2.5. Did you update to ares-ide@0.2.6?

    marian$ npm ls ares-ide
    /Users/mariandebonis/Desktop/AresPackageTest/
    └── ares-ide@0.2.6

Yes - I'm confused too. Therefore I posted my failure when updating.

It is still failing (now from inside our company network):

    npm info ok

    C:\Users\mhovekam>npm ls ares-ide
    C:\Users\mhovekam
    └── ares-ide@0.2.5
Should I try "install" instead of "update" ?
Or try later or change the network ?
    Modify the timeout intervall?
    Or reboot or ... ?
  • Try an install.
  • I uninstalled and from a private internet connection I then tried to install new 0.2.6 version. BUT it still installs 0.2.5 version again. :(
    C:\Users\xxx>npm ls ares-ide
    C:\Users\xxx
    └── (empty)

    C:\Users\xxx>npm -d install ares-ide
npm info it worked if it ends with ok

npm info install ares-ide@0.2.5 into C:\Users\xxx
    npm info installOne ares-ide@0.2.5
    ...
Is any able to install the new 0.2.6 version with this command?
Can I specific the version I want to install?
  • As said by e-mail. It works fine on mac (npm cache was cleaned-up).
We will test on windows in case of and let you know the result.

Otherwise to install a specific version, just execute "npm install ares-ide@0.2.6".
Make sure that you have node installed. The update is done from http://nodejs.org/

    Martin. I m using WIFI connexion(no proxy).
  • To summary:
    * make sure that we have latest node installed. Installation is done manually from http://nodejs.org/
    * are you installing from inside of HP? If yes, do you have the proxy defined. I can re-sent the procedure if needed.
  • Marian, yes I tried this from inside HP network.
Now I updated to latest version node@v0.10.21 and strange enough - actually I see a difference.
Well - I was now successful when repeating the install from my private home network. I have Ares 0.2.6 running now. Thanks!
@Marian, I sent details in email.
